What do you sell?

Perennials and annuals are our lead products, and around them we carry trees and shrubs, edible garden plants including vegetables and herbs, garden décor, pots and planters, landscape supplies, garden tools, lawn care products, and insect and pest control. If we do not have what you are looking for, we can order it. Come and see us, or call 801-814-5275 and ask.

What makes Country Gardens different from a big-box garden centre?

We are a family-owned local business, founded by Kim Hunter, and you will find us behind the counter rather than in an office. Our staff are gardeners, so you can ask what will actually survive a Northern Utah winter and get a real answer. Our customers say it better than we do: "every bit as good as the big names," "an excellent, personal touch that makes all the difference," and "the staff are always able to answer any questions I have, give me tips on how to best care for the plants I'm buying."

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed Sunday.

Do you carry organic and all-natural products?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You will find all-natural organic selections across the store — organic edibles, seeds and fertilizers in the edible garden section, organic and natural options for lawn care, and natural selections for insect and pest control. If chemical-free gardening matters to you, tell us and we will point you at what fits.

Do you carry native plants?

Yes. We offer high-quality native plants, and our vegetable and herb selection is chosen to reflect Northern Utah specifically rather than a national catalogue. Plants that suit our climate need less water, less fussing, and less replacing.

What is in season right now?

Accepted Answer

It changes through the year, which is the whole point of visiting a real nursery. We carry trees and shrubs for every season, our greenhouse fills with annuals in spring, and fall colour, fall harvests and the perennials that come back stronger all start with what you plant in autumn. Our Resources page carries what is currently arriving and on offer, and the fastest answer is always to stop in and ask.

Can you help me choose the right plants for my yard?

That is what we are here for. Speak with and learn from your local gardening experts — bring photographs, bring measurements, tell us how much sun the spot gets. Our staff will help you pick plants that will thrive where you are putting them, and tell you how to care for them once they are in the ground.

Something is eating my plants. Can you help?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use the Bug Finder and Weed Finder on our Lawn & Maintenance page to identify what you are dealing with, then come in and we will help you pick the best control — including natural and organic options. Bring a sample or a clear photograph of the damage if you can; it makes identification much faster.

What brands do you carry?

We are a Proven Winners Certified Garden Center, and we carry the largest selection of Proven Winners annuals in the area. On the lawn and garden care side we stock Fertilome, Hi-Yield, and Natural Guard. Ask us why we chose them.

Do you carry pots, planters and garden décor?

Accepted Answer

Yes to both. Planters and baskets: plant stands, indoor and outdoor hanging baskets, planter urns, saucers and more. Décor: wind chimes, outdoor art, fountains, Fairy Garden pieces, and a well-curated selection of garden gifts. It is one of the more enjoyable corners of the store.
